Anguilla Tennis Academy Ambassador Program

In 2023, The Anguilla Tennis Academy launched its Ambassador Program in partnership with Malliouhana, Auberge Resort to host current and former ATP players. Nicholas Monroe and Ryan Harrison have committed to serve as ATA Ambassadors. Both players have had stellar careers on the ATP Tour. Ryan had a career high of #40 in the world in singles and won the 2017 French Open Championship in doubles. Nicholas is a former top #30 ATP doubles player and two-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist.

The program is beneficial to our younger players who are already training with a goal to attend college on a tennis athletic scholarships. The students at the ATA and other interested children benefit from free tennis clinics and exhibition matches performed by the tennis professionals. Players also enjoy playing with and against Ryan Harrison and Nicholas Monroe.

Our tournament level players who are interested in playing at the collegiate level also benefit from the personalized instruction and techniques shared by the ATA Ambassadors. Participating in these clinics with players such as Nicholas and Ryan keep our players interested in the sport and motivated to develop their game to reach the level needed for college tennis. Players have the opportunity to interact with Nicholas Monroe who was a college player himself and played #1 at the University of North Carolina. Nicholas shares valuable advice about what is required to train and develop their game to play Division I college tennis. Nicholas currently works at the Tennis Channel as a commentator and part-time as coach for top American tennis players on both the ATP and WTA Tour.

The possibilities derived from this partnership for both the ATA and our players are endless. The ATA and Malliouhana have also formalized a partnership to ensure these two great ATP players are accommodated adequately and that the ATA Ambassadors Program is a success . The combined skill levels of Ryan and Nick coupled with their background and experience help develop young ATA tennis players, especially those aspiring to play college tennis. This partnership allows the ATA to host ATP players throughout the year and conduct tennis clinics and high-level exhibition matches at the ATA. Many of our players who cannot travel to witness this level of professional tennis will now be able to witness it at the Anguilla Tennis Academy because of the ATA Ambassador Program.
